I still can't get enough of Keith Loutit's tilt-shift video...

As an old 4x5 photographer, I know tilt-shift isn't new. But this style of photography is a reminder of the importance of "trying to do it wrong".

The trouble with YouTube...

...if you're an advertiser.
Corporates struggle to find agencies they trust to handle their online accounts. Online agencies struggle to measure effectiveness in online video. Online video providers try to sort the format. And the consumer (formerly known as the audience) keeps on watching.
An interesting article on "troubles" at YouTube from NMK.
We suspect the issue isn't so much which format to use in online advertising. There are plenty of good examples - see The Daily Show. We suspect it's an issue of changing the culture of expectations amongst advertisers.

A last word on the Ross/Brand affair
0 Comments
In the fast-moving world of media cycles the Ross/Brand affair is nearly ancient history, but we have to bring you what should be the last word on the matter, from our good friend Hugh Garry's outstanding blog. "...like having dinner with Joe Pesci."
The whole thing reminds me of the scene in Goodfellas when at the end of yet another hilarious anecdote by Tommy (Joe Pesci) somewhere in amongst the riotous laughter Henry (Ray Liotta) is heard to say 'You're funny'. Unfortunately for Henry the comment made in good spirit was not taken that way by Tommy and what followed was very comfortable to watch...pretty much like the news this week.
